Frequently Asked Questions
Is the sort case-sensitive?
No. “apple” and “Apple” are treated as equal, so the result matches what most people expect from an alphabetical list.
What happens to empty lines?
They are moved to the top of the sorted list. Combine this tool with Remove Duplicate Lines to clean up a messy list completely.
Is my text safe when I use this tool?
Yes. The sorting runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your text is never sent to a server, never stored and never logged.
